Job Description
**Description:** Position will serve as a strong foundation for

continued development as a design engineer\.

We are seeking a key technical member and design engineer for the Global Positioning System III \(GPS III\) Space Vehicle Design and Launch Integration team responsible for Space Vehicle design\.

The mechanical design engineer will perform design and analysis, MCAD modeling and drafting supporting development of antenna assemblies, supporting structure, and equipment layouts, models and drawings for antenna mechanical design\. Create detailed MCAD drawings, maintain model associativity, run automated MCAD programs and generate 3D models using PTC CREO MCAD solid modeling software\. Work under the direction of a lead design engineer and with a team of experienced antenna designers\. Perform interference checking, and configuration control in an MCAD environment; employ industry standard dimensioning practices and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing \(GD&T\) per ASME standards\. The candidate will drive drawing releases and perform/approve design changes\. Other related responsibilities include providing technical memos and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews\.

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required for this role\.

**Basic Qualifications:**

\- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field

\- Knowledge of mechanical CAD modeling and drafting

\- Fundamental understanding of structures, materials and processes

\- Mechanical hardware design experience

\- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication and assembly

\- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

**Desired Skills:**

\- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

\- Experience with test methods, planning and execution

\- Additive manufacturing experience

\- Ability to perform initial mechanical analyses

Coursework in college level physics\. Knowledge and

or training in the integration of requirements, design

and technology during the design and development

of complex systems\. Knowledge of product

development and associated development life cycle\.

Missile/aerospace related education/background\.

C\+\+, MatLab a plus\. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
