Registers and schedules patient procedures into Advantx with accuracy and a strong focus on request details, including add on procedures, as well as an understanding of the capabilities and limitation of the center.
Communicates effectively with OR Staff to avoid supply & equipment conflict.
Responsible for Patient benefit verification and prior authorization confirmation with the capacity to navigate various resources and tools.
Calculating and preparing patient estimate with a strong ability to communicate the nuances of medical insurance and patient liabilities to patients within 7 days of scheduled date, as well as, processing any patient payment or payment plan.
Ability to build a resilient and lasting report with Physician offices.
Focuses on overall center efficiency, including maximizing block time and being proactive to onboard cases, identifying efficiencies to facilitate patient care, minimizing down time of rooms between cases
Answer phones, tend to the main voicemail line
Monitor and update daily all tracking reports.
Problem solving effectively and according to procedure with little direct instruction or supervision
Provide support for the front desk: check in patients, process payments, chart building or breakdown, prepare financial logs, various reporting & tracking reports.
Provide patient support and resolutions and ability to read and understand any insurance correspondence (Authorization information, Explanation of Benefits, Claim denials).
Significant knowledge and understanding of Healthcare industry.
Fundamental understanding of medical insurance (copay, deductible, coinsurance, out of pockets) and terminology.
Knowledge of ICD-10 & CPT codes
Ability to use time wisely and prepare to meet high-paced demand.
Basic computer & web skills
STRONG communication skills: ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, and other ASC staff.
EXECELLENT and EXECPTIONAL customer services skills and etiquette.
Trustworthily and reliable with a positive attitude each day.
Basic math skills.
Genuine desire to learn and grow as a professional.
Minimum of two years' previous experience scheduling at Surgeons office, ASC, or hospital setting.
Minimum of one year experience in an Ambulatory Surgery environment strongly desired.
