Source, analyze and evaluate verifiable data to provide clear and concise information that confirms or helps redirect tactical execution of the business plan and informs the investment thesis.  Provides a consistent source of corporate messaging on market conditions. Support the team in determining markets for entry, maintain an up-to-date understanding of current markets, and enhance ability to make decisions necessary to execute on the business plan.


Position Location: Denver, CO. Office


Responsibilities:

Source and maintain housing market and data updates on economic indicators and housing metrics that drive the market.

 

Research and analyze market conditions at the local, regional, and national level.  Distinguish trends that may affect the housing market at each level.

 

Identify local and regional economic drivers including corporations moving in or out of the region, employment and job growth, population trends, demographics including income levels, and housing permits and starts.

 

Monitor supply-side industries related to housing, such as lumber, to understand and determine trends or shifts in market activity.

 

Track and report on housing sales in local and regional markets for new and existing housing that includes, sales, pricing, inventory and production of new housing.

 

Recommend, track and interpret other governmental data sets as applicable or as may be assigned including homebuilder sentiment, consumer sentiment, GDP at state levels, and relevant leading and lagging indicators.

 

Understand and recommend data sets to track to anticipate and measure market opportunity, and forecast markets for entry or exit. Prepare reports for same.

 

Author articles or reports on market trends, economic indicators and provide insight and interpretation of data applied to our markets.

 

Provide data in useable format for marketing and communications teams in communication with all stakeholders, as well as for public information and education.

 

Provide input into application of material and information for polished communications pieces.

 

Be well-versed using digital tools, such as data visualizations, to communicate the information in a compelling way.

 

Prepare and distribute regular weekly and/or monthly reports on the data being tracked, to include perspective on the meaning behind the data.  Using charts, graphs or other graphics as well as copy to deliver the message.

 

Required: Educational background in finance, economics, research, statistics or relevant field.

Completion of 4-year degree and 1-year of experience performing quantitative research studies or analysis is preferred.

 

Critical thinking and a curious mind, ability to manage oneself independently while meeting goals and objectives outlined by the capital/property/communications group.

 

Experience with dynamic data visualizations and computer programs are a plus.

Strong analytical and writing skills.
