  • OEE invites applications and nominations for an Extension State Program Specialist, 4-H Animal Science. This is a full-time, twelve (12) month, non-tenure track Extension faculty position. Faculty rank is dependent upon the candidate’s academic credentials and professional experience and is subject to review by the Extension Promotion Committee. The faculty appointment, evaluation, and promotion standards are centered around the three core duties of extension faculty – educate, create, and connect.     Graduate Coordinator (0.6 FTE) The Graduate Coordinator position in Chemical and Biological Engineering is a 12-month, full time Administrative Professional position. This position plays a critical role in departmental efforts to provide quality graduate programs and exceptional advising. This coordinator must have a strong dedication to the department and its students, and demonstrate the ability to think creatively, analytically, and strategically to create programs and systems, to solve problems independently and creatively and effectively supervise operations of the graduate program.

    This coordinator will oversee the application and admissions process for the graduate programs, and provide data and analyses to determine the annual admissions goals of the department. This position provides credential evaluations and degree audits of graduate applicants verifying accuracy and completeness of credentials, with respect to admission decisions for graduate programs. This individual will review graduate applications and facilitate admissions decisions; monitor the applicant database; and resolve issues or problems. Experience with up-to-date database records and correspondence are a requirement of the position.

    This position will be responsible to research and summarize data for reports and periodic reviews regarding prospective, admitted, and matriculating students to maximize effectiveness of recruiting efforts, and maintain records and historical data for easy retrieval.     Department Administration (0.4 FTE) The duties associated with department administration focus on effective and efficient running of department operations. These responsibilities include coordinating the seminar series each semester; managing the AIChE students organization budget, and acting as an unofficial advisor to the AIChE student chapter; supporting senior design teams by placing orders for materials, and managing each group’s budget – see below. Effective event planning for the department may include the senior design reception, graduate applicant visit day, new graduate student welcome, and assisting with conferences. This position arranges catering, books rooms, and ensures events stay within budget.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for answering all calls coming into the hospital currently on the operator line, small and large animal direct lines, scheduling appointments, paging/connecting clinicians and routing calls appropriately. This role will also maintain online scheduling system, verify client/patient information, verify rDVM contact information, explain appointment process and procedures and determine patient service area based on nature of medical concerns and urgency of condition.

    Job Specifications:     

    • Outlets: The Belle Café 
    • Expected Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.51 / hour
    • Shift & Schedule Availability:  Full Time, Year Round
    • Skill Level: Lead


    Job Responsibilities:

    • Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
    • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
    • Prepare coffee, tea, and alcoholic beverages following the recipes 
    • Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches, and pastries
    • Answering customers’ questions about menu choices
    • Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
    • Taking payment from customers
    • Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized
    • Coordinate with other staff in following food safety and hygiene procedures according to company policy
    • Working within a team setting to meet sales goals during a shift
    • Ensure prompt service and high level of customer satisfaction
    • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
    • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
    • Handle and store ingredients and food
    • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
    • Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
    • Monitor station inventory levels
    • Knowledge of safety procedures, including safe temperatures at which ingredients must be kept and to which food must be prepared to avoid foodborne illness
    • Comprehension and organization to follow direct orders and recipes and to correctly prepare dishes to the standards of the restaurant
    • Should have the ability to work (or willing to learn) all stations in the café 
    • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
    • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
    • Other duties as assigned


    Job Qualifications:

    • Team-oriented, positive attitude is a must - required.
    • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours- required.
    • Must be able to work weekends and holidays- required.
    • Must be fluent in English- required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent - preferred.
    • Previous restaurant or guest service experience - preferred.

     

    The expected pay range is $21.00 - $25.51. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
