  • The CVMBS Human Resources Partner (HRP) as a member of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) Human Resources team, advises on and provides expertise for the full spectrum of HR strategic initiatives, operations and professional services across the college, specializing specifically in employee relations and performance management for all employee types. They will mentor and educate CVMBS department HR Coordinators/Generalists in both academic and service departments, serving over 2000 employees (faculty, staff, and multiple employee types/groups). They will partner with other CVMBS HR team members as well as with university centralized offices such as human resources, office of equal opportunity, talent development, inclusive excellence, ombuds, provost's office, etc.

    The CVMBS HRP is accountable for administering and supporting policies, procedures and programs that will develop and sustain an inclusive, collaborative and high-performance workforce. This position will also provide expertise/guidance related to HR data management systems at CSU and will collaborate with other team members to provide back-up HR services and training across the college as needed.
    The HRP will advise and partner with Directors, Department Heads, Business Officers and Supervisors to ensure alignment and understanding of the needs of the departments/units and the HR services required to meet those needs. The HRP will provide HR expertise and demonstrate both strategic and operational acumen to effectively meet employee needs in CVMBS. The position reports to the CVMBS Director of Human Resources.

    This position is located in Fort Collins, CO. Relocation expense reimbursement and signing bonus may be offered to the eligible finalist candidate.
  • The School of Education seeks applications between July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024, from individuals who are interested in securing temporary instructor positions within the Higher Education Leadership program for the 2023-2024 academic year.

  • Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Program Delivery, the Wood Utilization and Marketing Program Specialist is responsible for the oversight and administration of programs under the Wood Utilization and Marketing Program including developing and maintaining education and outreach program design and delivery on all aspects of the harvesting, manufacturing, and marketing of wood products for both internal and external audiences. A focus of this position will be on direct technical and marketing assistance to Colorado’s sawmills and primary wood products processors. This position will be responsible for program administration, professional forestry consultation, and providing science-based forest biomass expertise to support Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) Divisions and external partners throughout Colorado. The position maintains key working relationships with CSFS partners and represents the agency on a variety of state and regional committees.

    This position requires that the Program Specialist is proficient in general program management skills including but not limited to: recording accomplishments, meeting deadlines, tracking budgets, developing and sustaining key relationships and supporting CSFS Divisions related to forest biomass utilization. The Program Specialist will work with the CSFS Science and Data Division to maintain and update a statewide forest biomass assessment and carbon accounting framework, and support the Forest Action Plan. The Program Specialist needs to be proactive in their program development, assist other Program Specialists accomplishing program objectives, forecast program needs, be aware of significant changes, practices, science, etc. in related areas, and effectively share new knowledge and information with internal staff and external partners and cooperators. The Program Specialist will also serve as a CSFS representative and advocate for forest management and social change consistent with the CSFS mission and strategic priorities.

    Daily activities include: providing technical assistance related to wood utilization and biomass programs, grant and agreement writing and administration, budget administration, assisting CSFS Divisions with program implementation and coordination, developing and maintaining relationships with key partners, conducting trainings and workshops, and assisting the Manager of Program Delivery with other special projects as they arise.
  • The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) at Colorado State University (CSU) is seeking a Medical Director (MD) of Companion Animal Primary Care Services. This position will be responsible for operations within the Primary Care Clinic (PCC), which is slated for completion in spring 2026, with full operational capacity starting summer 2028. The PCC is planned as a purpose built, state-of-the-art, regional companion animal primary care center designed to train veterinary students and provide a wide spectrum of veterinary care.

    The PCC resides within the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). The PCC and Animal Specialty Hospital (ASH) are major pillars of the CSU Veterinary Health System (VHS) which includes medical, clinical, diagnostic, continuing education, and other health service operations within the CVMBS. The construction of the PCC is part of the larger ~350,000 sq ft addition/renovation to the CSU south campus called the Veterinary Health and Education Complex (VHEC) project. The VHEC will include the Livestock Veterinary Services Annex (LVS), Veterinary Education Complex (VEC), and PCC, and newly renovated ASH. These four areas will join the current suite of buildings on the CSU South Campus that include the Johnson Family Equine Hospital (JFEH), Diagnostic Medical Center (DMC), and Translational Medicine Institute (TMI). This juxtaposition of educational, research, and service facilities provides a unique opportunity to advance veterinary and allied professions. A result of this expansion will be inclusion of the first- and second-year DVM students in the VHEC starting in 2026, a move from the longstanding main university campus location. With this greater community presence, the master plan for the VHEC includes the development of indoor and outdoor spaces that intentionally support a sense of engagement and wellbeing.

    The PCC will be the lynchpin of the progressive new DVM curriculum that is scheduled to launch in fall of 2026. The PCC will house third- and fourth-year students as they focus their education on delivery of primary veterinary services for companion animals, including dogs, cats, and other small mammals. The PCC team will include 8 faculty members and 13 veterinary technicians, plus paraprofessional support staff. The ~12,000 ft2 facility consists of three large treatment areas, dental and surgical suites, 14 examination rooms, and round rooms and work areas for doctors, veterinary technicians, and students.

    The MD of Companion Animal Primary Care Services will lead and actively contribute to this exciting next phase of growth, with the opportunity to implement the vision and promote the premier reputation of the CSU-CVMBS as a top-tier establishment. The MD will develop relationships with external entities with the goal of better serving underserved individuals within the Northern Colorado community and broadening clinical service and experiential learning opportunities for DVM students. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, service-oriented individual with excellent leadership skills to fill this role.

    The CSU College of Veterinary Medicine is ranked 2nd in the nation by US News and World Report, and 2nd for federal research funding by Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research.     The MD of Companion Animal Primary Care Services will formally report to the Executive Director of Clinical Services to optimize operational efficiency, manage shared resources, and ensure fiscal sustainability of the PCC. The MD will work closely with the Director of Clinical Education, who oversees the DVM clinical teaching component of primary care and specialty services. Depending on expertise and interests, the MD may have a joint faculty appointment in the Department of Clinical Sciences, in support of didactic or laboratory teaching, scholarly activity, and/or service. It is preferred that the successful candidate be eligible for a joint faculty appointment at an Associate or full Professor rank. Reporting structure and any associated responsibilities for a joint faculty appointment would be outlined in a separate MOU. The successful candidate will serve alongside MDs in Equine, Livestock, Small Animal Specialties, and Shared Clinical Services (e.g. Anesthesia, Imaging).

    A combination of signing bonus and relocation expenses may be considered for successful candidates.
  • Multiple Archaeologist positions are available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) to support U.S. Army Garrison installations on the islands of Oahu (Schofield Barracks) and Island of Hawaii (Pohakuloa Training Area). These positions will support all fieldwork activities, including accompanying cultural accesses, monitoring, pedestrian survey, data collection and input, and coordination of assigned tasks/projects. The Archaeologist will familiarize themselves with installation plans, undertakings, and cultural studies and inventories; and supervise Cultural Resources staff in the field.

    The Archaeologists will work closely, and in collaboration with, the CEMML Cultural Resources Project Manager (Supervisor) and Army Cultural Resource Managers (CRMs).

    Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Coordinates scheduling and support from individuals in Army, Federal, and State positions, and contractors, to accomplish fieldwork.
    • When implementing fieldwork, may supervise a team of archaeologists and/or field technicians. May be assigned control and coordination of projects under guidance from CEMML Cultural Resources Project Manager.
    • All work must be done in accordance with applicable Army, Federal, and State regulations and laws, especially regarding historic/cultural preservation, endangered species, safety, and health. Participates in public outreach activities.
    • Work in areas with UXO with professional EOD supervision.
    • Must be able to communicate and interact with internal/external staff, officials, and public in a professional manner.
    • Work requires some independent judgment/decision making, technical writing and organizational skills, attention to detail, and people skills.
    • Must be able to work in a structured work environment with established lines of authority, procedures, and protocols.
    • May be asked to work in subterranean environments (lava tubes).
    • Must be able to drive a 4x4 vehicle over rough terrain.
    • Fieldwork spanning several hours is commonly required over rough terrain at elevations of 5,000 to 10,000 feet.
