  • The department of Health and Exercise Science (HES) seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in obtaining a temporary (i.e., time-limited) research position.

    These positions include interaction with the Principal Investigator as well as other research associates. These individuals will have a broad range of responsibilities which may include but are not limited to:
    1. General lab organization and ordering of supplies.
    2. Management of records associated with compliance with Human or Animal Institutional Review Board protocols and guidelines.
    3. Recruitment, screening, and testing of human volunteers ranging from 18-95 years of age.
    4. Exercise testing and training of human volunteers.
    5. Survey testing of human participants.
    6. Data collection and subsequent analysis using custom computer programs.
    7. Data entry and management of electronic data records.

  • The School of Education seeks applications between July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024, from individuals who are interested in securing temporary instructor positions within the Higher Education Leadership program for the 2023-2024 academic year. 

    Instructors teach hybrid courses (using video conferencing and synchronous learning technologies) in areas of their expertise and are hired periodically for fall, spring, and/or summer term, contingent upon enrollments and need. Reappointment may depend upon performance and the availability of funding.

  • The Proposal Research Project Manager (RPM) plays a leading role in the preparation and submission of scientific proposals to external sponsors, including federal, state, and local government agencies, industry, and foundations.

    The RPM also provides day-to-day budget management of a complex portfolio of scientific research projects working closely with college faculty and senior research scientists to coordinate multiple research projects.

    This position does not participate in the scientific research of any project.

    A successful RPM will be capable of coordinating complex expenditure planning for multiple research projects, forecasting, and recommending appropriate solutions for staff funding shortfalls, and purchasing or travel complications. This individual does not typically execute financial transactions, but reviews and approves/declines project-related expenditures in consultation as needed with the projects’ principal investigator (PI).

    The successful candidate will be a quick learner with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong writing skills. Additionally, a successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with faculty, research scientists, university administrators, program managers, and scientific collaborators in the U.S and abroad. The individual must be proactive, a self-starter, able to prioritize tasks, able to navigate frequent interruptions, and must possess a strong work ethic and commitment to producing quality work.

    The Proposal Research Project Manager reports to the Director of Pre-award Support in the Walter Scott, Jr, College of Engineering at the Colorado State University.

    Remote work is negotiable depending on the experience of the candidate. Remote work candidates will be considered, however periodic on-campus presence may be necessary (e.g. staff retreat) but not on a regular basis. Therefore, candidates are expected to commute to Fort Collins when necessary.

  • The Department of Journalism and Media Communication hires part-time instructors to teach courses in print & electronic journalism, video production, computer-mediated communication, public relations, technical/specialized communication, and related areas.

    The open pool is intended to collect applications throughout the year. We draw from this pool if and when the department finds itself in need of a non-tenure track, temporary instructor in a specific area or for a specific class. There may be any number of reasons that we may hire from this pool: temporary sabbatical replacement, instructor replacement (if they find another employment opportunity), retirements, emergency medical leave replacements, etc.
  • Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Program Delivery, the Wood Utilization and Marketing Program Specialist is responsible for the oversight and administration of programs under the Wood Utilization and Marketing Program including developing and maintaining education and outreach program design and delivery on all aspects of the harvesting, manufacturing, and marketing of wood products for both internal and external audiences. A focus of this position will be on direct technical and marketing assistance to Colorado’s sawmills and primary wood products processors. This position will be responsible for program administration, professional forestry consultation, and providing science-based forest biomass expertise to support Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) Divisions and external partners throughout Colorado. The position maintains key working relationships with CSFS partners and represents the agency on a variety of state and regional committees.

    This position requires that the Program Specialist is proficient in general program management skills including but not limited to: recording accomplishments, meeting deadlines, tracking budgets, developing and sustaining key relationships and supporting CSFS Divisions related to forest biomass utilization. The Program Specialist will work with the CSFS Science and Data Division to maintain and update a statewide forest biomass assessment and carbon accounting framework, and support the Forest Action Plan. The Program Specialist needs to be proactive in their program development, assist other Program Specialists accomplishing program objectives, forecast program needs, be aware of significant changes, practices, science, etc. in related areas, and effectively share new knowledge and information with internal staff and external partners and cooperators. The Program Specialist will also serve as a CSFS representative and advocate for forest management and social change consistent with the CSFS mission and strategic priorities.

    Daily activities include: providing technical assistance related to wood utilization and biomass programs, grant and agreement writing and administration, budget administration, assisting CSFS Divisions with program implementation and coordination, developing and maintaining relationships with key partners, conducting trainings and workshops, and assisting the Manager of Program Delivery with other special projects as they arise.
  • A Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) Environmental Compliance Specialist position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands. The position is located at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

    Responsibilities Include:
    • Provide Asbestos and Lead Paint Management support to US Army Garrison – Hawaii.
    • Review project plans, work requests, and NEPA documents to identify potential hazards and use advanced knowledge and judgement to make recommendation for correction.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database.
    • Update and evaluate historical asbestos and lead data, building structures and materials and develop facility management plans.
    • Conduct renovation and demolition project quality assurance surveys.
    • Attend meetings, review work plans and make suggestions for improvement.
    • Perform lead-based paint, asbestos, and PCB surveys, analyze and interpret data and write reports of findings, including preventative actions or measure to minimize hazards.
    • Provide final reports with detailed descriptions of the projects, work performed, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions.

    Work may require travel to the Island of Hawaii.
  • Multiple Archaeologist positions are available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) to support U.S. Army Garrison installations on the islands of Oahu (Schofield Barracks) and Island of Hawaii (Pohakuloa Training Area). These positions will support all fieldwork activities, including accompanying cultural accesses, monitoring, pedestrian survey, data collection and input, and coordination of assigned tasks/projects. The Archaeologist will familiarize themselves with installation plans, undertakings, and cultural studies and inventories; and supervise Cultural Resources staff in the field.

    The Archaeologists will work closely, and in collaboration with, the CEMML Cultural Resources Project Manager (Supervisor) and Army Cultural Resource Managers (CRMs).

    Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Coordinates scheduling and support from individuals in Army, Federal, and State positions, and contractors, to accomplish fieldwork.
    • When implementing fieldwork, may supervise a team of archaeologists and/or field technicians. May be assigned control and coordination of projects under guidance from CEMML Cultural Resources Project Manager.
    • All work must be done in accordance with applicable Army, Federal, and State regulations and laws, especially regarding historic/cultural preservation, endangered species, safety, and health. Participates in public outreach activities.
    • Work in areas with UXO with professional EOD supervision.
    • Must be able to communicate and interact with internal/external staff, officials, and public in a professional manner.
    • Work requires some independent judgment/decision making, technical writing and organizational skills, attention to detail, and people skills.
    • Must be able to work in a structured work environment with established lines of authority, procedures, and protocols.
    • May be asked to work in subterranean environments (lava tubes).
    • Must be able to drive a 4x4 vehicle over rough terrain.
    • Fieldwork spanning several hours is commonly required over rough terrain at elevations of 5,000 to 10,000 feet.
  • The CSU VTH exists to provide exceptional veterinary care and service to the community while educating the next generation of veterinarians at a tertiary level teaching hospital with veterinary trauma center designation. Critical Care Services provides medical care for small animals and exotics on an emergency basis and intensive 24-hour care to patients who are admitted for extended treatment. We simultaneously provide clinical instruction to professional veterinary medical students, interns, residents, veterinary technicians, graduate veterinarians, and others; conduct and support clinical research; and provide referral outreach to clients and referring veterinarians. There will be an increased leadership role expected of this particular position.

    This position is located in the Urgent Care/Emergency unit at the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, which provides services 24/7 including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The position is required to report as directed to perform essential and/or emergency services without delay or interruption.

    This is an essential worker position and must be willing and able to report to work as directed to perform essential and/or emergency services without delay or interruption.

    This position typically works overnight 10pm-8am, or 9pm-7am (10-hour shifts) four days per week, Thursday through Sunday, but may be asked to adjust to meet the needs of the department and university.

    The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

    This position must:
    • Triage all incoming emergency cases and assess the client situation for optimal care.
    • Stabilizes emergent, medically dynamic patients.
    • Assist and initiate advanced procedures such as pericardiocentesis and positive pressure ventilation.
    • Monitors patients to assess response to treatment or need to initiate treatment.
    • Coordinates and provides care of ill or injured animals with doctors, students and other staff, including nursing care and technical procedures.
    • Provides medically-experienced phone triage/screening and support.
    • Facilitates coordination and communication between appropriate hospital departments, clients, and referring veterinarians.
    • Provides clinical and didactic instruction to professional veterinary medical students, interns, residents, technicians, graduate veterinarians and others.
